Hi, I'm Olivia !
My philosophy...
I acknowledge that reaching out for therapeutic support is not always easy, and honour my client’s courage and strength for taking that difficult first step. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is an extremely important aspect of therapy and my goal first and foremost is to develop a strong therapeutic alliance with my clients. I want to create a safe, empowering and encouraging environment. I believe in working alongside my clients to set collaborative and meaningful goals, while also providing support and guidance throughout our therapeutic journey together.
I approach therapy from a trauma-informed, non-judgemental, anti-oppressive and culturally-informed perspective. I do not believe in a “one size fits all” approach to therapy and therefore use an integrated and holistic approach. This means that I draw from many different therapeutic modalities to address a wide range of issues and complexities. This allows me to tailor therapy specifically to each client’s personality, preferences and identified needs. I have training and clinical experience using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Interventions, Motivational Interviewing, Behavioural and Cognitive Exposure Therapy, Client-Centred Therapy, Attachment-Focused Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy. My clinical interests include (but are not limited to) working with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, self-criticism, self-identity issues, burnout, life transitions, relationship concerns, stress, trauma, PTSD, and coping skills.
"There is no standard of normal. Normal is subjective. There are over seven billion versions of normal on this planet."
